A union advisor is a direct link to each union who can offer personalized advice in order to be a very efficient resource in defence of local members’ rights. Support for unions and their members comes in the form of labour relations, grievance support and defense, appeals at administrative tribunals as well as during negotiations, job conflicts and union life.”  See more in the following link:   http://fneeq.qc.ca/en/qui_sommes_nous-186/

CCMM-CSN Conseil central de Montréal métropolitain

A regional organization affiliated with the CSN, the Conseil central brings together more than 100 000 members, in both the private and public sectors, from more than 400 unions in Montreal, Laval and the far north of Quebec.  It provides support for common causes.  It reimbursed us for most strike expenses (other than strike pay). The Conseil centrale also provides practical help when the local union is in conflict with the administration. During our fight a over the 80CI question, an organiser came to help us plan tactics for the fight and the Conseil centrale paid for the hundreds of our well-known coffee cups.

CSN

Founded in 1921, the CSN is a labour organization that works to promote solidarity, democracy, equity and sustainability in our society. To those ends, the CSN actively participates in public debates of interest to Quebec society. It is made up of nearly 2,000 labour unions and brings together more than 300,000 workers who are represented by sector or profession by eight federations, and regionally by thirteen central councils, mainly in the territory of Quebec. The CSN strike fund, which we all contribute to in our union dues, pays strike pay after a certain number of days on strike.
